Is this a bad thing??????
I have a turbo p11, when I look down at my crank pullie I can see my timming marks, but when I shoot the timming gun I can't see them at all, is this a bad thing???? I was at Bobs house yesterday when Serban changed his crank pullie, so I decided let me check mine too.And thats when I discovered this, should I change mine too???

if i read your post correctly and i am correct.your car has to be in ""timing mode"" to be able to read the timing marks.i know i was puzzled when i did the forum way of advance timing and saw the marks disappear after plugging up the TPS .

Try putting the engine in ""timing mode"" and then check for marks

Yep, you would likely see it at around 25 degrees depending on the map, and other variables, if you're not in timing mode. Once you're in timing mode, the timing marks should be locked in at 15 degrees.

Considering you can see them without a strobe, I have a feeling the inertia ring has slipped on the crank pulley.

The pulley will come apart and just spin. My Ve came with a bad crank pully and I could never get a light on it. If you can pull it off and see if spins.
