My first true n00b question on the forum.
Ok here is the plans.
I have a 96 200sx SE-R w/ 122,000 miles w/ mods in the sig.
I also have a Turbonetics T3 Turbo 50 trim. Paid $235 shipped to my door.
I found a DET engine (only engine, head , Intake manifold, & both oil pans) block with bad crank bearing. Just started knocking. Asking price $100
Here is what I have been thinking of doing.
Personaly I like the way the Lowport head looks plus has shorter runners ect. To me the Highport in a 200SX is just down right ugly.
What i was thinking of doing is getting the best of both worlds. My Lowport head w/ DET bottom end. I am not so much looking to turbo my DE cause of no Piston Squarters, Weaker Rods, and Higher Compression and its not tapped.
Guess what I am wondering will the crank be messed up on an engine that knocking? If i tair it down what bearings should i go with, and should i have the Piston bearings style main saddle grooving for improved rod bearing oil feed like pic below, with something like these bearings?
I am not looking for a drag car of any sorts. I looking for a nice 12psi boost for around town and crank it up some when i wanna go out and have fun. I am really not looking for more then 300. If i got 300 HP id be happy, but would like to keep it around 225-275ish w/ 300 being the limit.
From my research this is at least what i need to get this running
VRS 3" Exhaust w/ 3" Test Pipe ( this can wait as i have a 2.5 crush bent)
3" Downpipe

Boost Control:
ACT Clutch Kit: NX9-HDR6 (as i dont think my JWT w/ 2000 se disc will hold for long){is this more then i need)

I jsut trying to make sure i have everything i need on the list to get this running. Am i going about this the wrong way? I am in no hurry to get this complete and i have a beater to drive.
