Thread: junk yard turbos....

what turbo cars that have any type/size turbo that would fit a stock det manifold.....?anyone know?

reason.....im gonna find something from the junk yard to start to peice together my build and on a budget for now

oh and it will be ona de with a det manifold.......

If I was on that kinda budget, I wouldn't even attempt it

ok seems like the right thing to do....i gues il have to wait till i get my tax returns.........what do you guys know of the rwd turbo setup on a fwd?like clearance issues?

I'm sure you will be able to find a cheap T25, just be patient and keep you eyes open. Junkyard turbo's are hit or miss and require modification.

Why not just get a t25 for starters? You know it's going to work and they can be had cheap from people on here upgrading, because by the time you either find one and have to pay to rebuild that one (not to mention your personal time and gas money) you could have had a nice t25. I can't imagine you'd find a nice turbo in a junkyard. Plus there is a lot of aftermarket support for the t25/t28 and you won't have to try piece together random parts.

I recently did a T25 setup and got all the parts from either vendors or other members and it took me less than a summer to aquire all the parts and that's on a college students salary. but good luck and I hope it all works out for you.

see thats waht i like to hear........only im not on a colledge budget.....ive got a 2month old whom im building my nx for ONE DAY(my excuse to the fiance for modding it)........he will love it and thank me

Nothing really in the junkyards, about everything you will find with be T3 flanged and if it is T2 flanged it won't work on the DET manifold (for example mitsu).
