Complete Turbo Set Up - Parts
Hey Guys,

Need a little help with a complete turbo set up. I'm a VE junkie (with a Blown Engine ) and therefore have little experience with what parts I need for a turbo set up, and especially what type of parts that are the best, performance and durability.
I think I have the most important parts on my list, except for the engine/fuel/boost management parts, on which I would very much like to have your input

I was really hoping you will be so kind as to take the time and let me steal some of your knowledge and experience on this topic, especially regarding what parts are the best.

If anybody has some of the parts or know where the best place is to get them, then it will also help me a lot. I am of course familiar with JWT, JGY, etc.
I'm also having big problems getting hold of the engines (have talked with Andreas), so if anyone knows someone or have heard something, then please let me know. I have found some GTI-R engines but no W11 engines

All 3 cars are P11's

Thanx for your time

Best Regards
Carsten

My list so far:
3 x W11 engines (or GTI-R engines if you can't get any W11 engines)
2 x VE engines
1 X VQ35 engine, tranny and harness from an A34

3 x GT2871R
4 x clutch
3 x exhaust manifolds
3 x front pipes
3 x HKS Chrono DB meters
3 x FIC
3 x Turbo Timer
3 x BOV
4 x rear exhaust
3 x Koyo Radiator
3 x oil coolers

Wow, there's so much to say, it's a little overwhelming... first, and depending on your power goals, I'd recommend calum's realtime ecu, definitely get a good adjustable fuel pressure regulator w/gauge, get an inline or z32 fuel filter, and a good high flowing fuel pump. I have a walbro and it does fine. You';ll also want to go with the Z32 MAF. I'd say get as big of injectors as you can afford. go 740 if you can, you don't want to max out injectors and those 2871's will take some fuel.

What specific questions do you have? If you search around on the forum you'll find lots of threads about what parts people are using. Look at my thread on my new build and you'll see what parts I'm using, Keo has a thread about his nx build, I think ashtonsser has one too... If you have specific questions, I'm sure you'll get answers...

Thanx for the answer - Sorry for my lack of information but I also have a fully adjustable engine management system from the ETCC series EFI so I don't have to use the MAF. I have high flow fuel pumps and larger injectors.
I could use a FPR and a Z32 fuel filter.
I'm aiming for around 350-400 BHP, but probably closer to 350

I need information about what you guys think, from your experience, are the best pars to use and where to buy them, on my list above

Ok so you got 3 cars, and requesting SIX engines

Swapping VE heads over to the W11/53C blocks making 2 VET engines and one pure DET?

So whats the story with the VQ?

*curious*

well, for fuel pressure regulators, the best are Sard and Aeromotive, and both companies make good inline pumps and filters. You won't go wrong there.

so lemme get this right, you're trying to build 3 cars simultaneously? If I were you, I'd mix it up some. Go all motor VE on one (they're fun to drive, 200whp NA is great), boost one, and I assume you're planning on packing a VQ into a sentra? That would be a hoot too.

I'd also make sure you get the right heat range plugs, BKR7E's for turbo, IDK what's best for NA or VE-T.

Thanx for the info on the FPR, now I only need info on the rest

Maybe I will use the extra VE head on one of the turbo engines, but don't know for sure.... I have previously been very satisfied with the GTI-R engines with 300+HP. And I want something that is rock solid.

I have tried these highly modified engines, and it never gets as reliable as a factory assembled engine, if you ask me. I know that it is a very long discussion, and I will continue to modify my engines, but these 3 cars, I will try to keep as standard as possible when talking internals

Yep, 3 turbo P11 cars
1 VE P11
1 VE for spare parts for my blown VE
1 VQ35 engine with tranny and harness to another customer who wants us to try and put it into an old A32 Maxima

Sounds like a good idea.... do you by any chance have 3 W11 engines!?
Actually does ANYONE have some W11 engines!?

It is just cheaper for me to buy a lot at one time because I have to think about shipping prices

so the stuff you listed here is all stuff you need? For a lot of this stuff, I'd head on over to the G Spec Performance section of the forum and leave a message for Greg. He treats everyone here real well and he's a straight shooter...

My list so far:
3 x W11 engines (or GTI-R engines if you can't get any W11 engines) can't help you out there, you'll just have to hit up all the importers. -== I've dealt with Noyan USA and Tiger Japanese successfully, but engines are always hit or miss.
2 x VE engines == see above
1 X VQ35 engine, tranny and harness from an A34 == see above

3 x GT2871R == i'd go directly to garrett on these
4 x clutch == if you're planning on 400hp, you'll want a heavy clamper and probably a sprung 6 puck clutch. Personally I've had nothing but bad experiences with clutchnet and clutchmasters, I'm an ACT man.
3 x exhaust manifolds == the GTi-R or W11 manifold is as good as many log style manifolds, I'd just look around on here for them. they come up for sale often enough.
3 x front pipes == IDK really where to send you, I've had my last several custom made, I'd hit up Greg V @ Gspec.com for his advice.
3 x HKS Chrono DB meters == again I'd send you to Greg, IDK If he carries HKS, but I'd still start there.
3 x FIC == You mean intercooler? depends on your taste. There are a ton of good intercooler manufacturers, I've had spearco, Precision, and GReddy before, all worked great, all high quality parts...
3 x Turbo Timer == doesn't really matter, they're all pretty much the same even the cheapoes. Oops, did I just say that? I'd just see if I could get a deal on 3, again, contact Greg or look around here...
3 x BOV == there are tons of good bov's, I've used blitz, Forge, and stock, and currently have a GReddy Type-RS. Just depends on what look you want and what you want to spend. The HKS SSQV is one of the best, but spendy.
4 x rear exhaust == I've never bought a boxed exhaust before, always have had them custom made, and I've always been lucky enough to be near someone who has a mandrel bender. Couldn't even tell you where to start except that my muffler is currently a Vibrant Turbo muffler.
3 x Koyo Radiator == I just had a discussion with Greg about radiators, and it turns out that the GTi-R stock Rad is nearly as efficient as the Koyo, but he can supply you with both.
3 x oil coolers == the super cool baller one is the GReddy, but I think there are several decent ones out there, such as B&M and others.

Anything else?
