Killer T28 Find... Opinions... Pics...
Well my buddy and I were looking for some T28s when we stumbled across these two that came off of a skyline with a RB26. We were a little worried at first because we had read that some skyline T28s were T3 flanged. Turns out that the ones off the the RB26 are T2 flanged. These are Garrett T28 A/R 42 turbos...We couldn't beat the price, what do you guys thing?

If I am remembering right, you have to be VERY careful with the Skyline turbos. I think the compressor outlet flange is 2-bolt instead of 3 (like most RWD and FWD SR turbos) so the piping might be a challenge.

The other thing I believe I'm remembering is that the compressor wheel is some kind of ceramic, not metal. It's lightweight, so it spools really fast, but after a certain boost level (I'm thinking 12 psi) it tends to fly to pieces. That's bad.

You may want to search Zilvia or Freshalloy for more info, I know there have been conversations both places about these.

Hope that helps.
