Boost Gauge Accuracy?
I have a prosport electric boost gauge and a greddy profec b spec 2 boost controller. They are both getting their reading from the vacuum line running from the FPR to the intake manifold. My reading on my gauge will read 8 psi but my boost controller will read 100 meaning 10 psi. So it appears that one of these devices is at least 2 psi off? Which one is the most accurate?

Well, you have a "B16", so perhaps you should sell it and get a nissan. Jk. I think the boost controller is prob more accurate. I would hook up a mechanical guage to know for sure. Take the average of all 3 lol.

I really don't have a b16 lol... that's just the running joke between me and my buddy with dets in our town because we figure no one locally needs to know what's under the hood so we tell them we have b16s and then they say oh you me the ga16 and we're like umm I guess so...

My vote is for the prosport. I have an Autometer Mechanical gauge in my car and I just hooked up MY AEM Tru Boost controller/gauge in the car also. My wastegate spring is 14.5lbs. When my Tial opens up you can hear it and you can watch the Autometer read 14.5. But the AEM reads about 13.0lbs. It pisses me off. Luckily I didnt take the Autometer out. Im running them both. Im gonna take teh AEM gauge back and see if I can get another one that reads accurately.

I even reads my Vac off. At idle with the car fully warm my vac is 20-21. The AEM gauge reads 18-19vac at idle. Both are hooked up on the same exact FPR vac line also so I know they should be reading the same but the AEM just isnt accurate. Everything else works great though.

Do u now that autometer is now to not be accurate on their gauges I now i had some then i started to look for reviews and i started seen that lots of people had same problem that they were of by a little but wasent accurate

No offense but I could care less what people are saying about there gauges being off. I know for a FACT that my autometer boost gauge is reading perfectly. If my wastegate opens at 14.5 and when it opens my gauge is reading 14.5 then I dont know about you but thats spot on in my book.

Every gauge can be off if its not calibrated right. But its easier for an electrical gauge to be off then a mechanical. Ive only had one autometer gauge read off out of the TONS ive had and that was a nitrous gauge. Out of my TWO AEM gauges Ive owned 50% of them have read off. I like autometers odds better!
