so would the sensor goin bad cause the engine to over heat??

CHECK te CTS ohms, if you are truly getting hot temps, then your cts should read low ohms, normally if you have a bad CTS your ecu will overcompensate your fuel and retard your timing due to the ''hot'' engine temps even if its a cold start and you get low ohms it will still compensate fueling and timing for extreme hot engine temps.

to me your problem almost sounds like a mechanical problem did you check your compression? getting any exhaust smoke? oil in coolant coolant in oil?

the CTS is more of a electric than mechanical in a sense that it read the coolant temps and adjust the fuel and timing accordingly ie: if the coolant is cold it will adjust the fuel for warm up untill the cts gets to a certain degree then it will adjust for that temp ie: like a coolant temp enrichment ie: fuel vs: coolant percentage..then if your car gets really hot and goes out of parameter for the cts then the enine will be sent into limp mode and overcompensate fuel and timing to keep the engine safe.

if you are lierally getting really hot engine starts, then you migh have a legit mechanical problem ie: water pump, thermostat, headgasket ect

^ in short, pull your spark plugs and check to see if they are fouled with carbon on them from the engine running rch from the cts going bad.

then pull the cts sensor clip and start the car it should run like normal if its the cts becuase the car will see a default tempature that should let the car run normally on start up...

if the plugs arent fouled and the nplugging of the cts doesnt help...look elsewere

ok.. well i jacked the car up took the cap off and started the car...
i let it run for a bit to see if the coolant would go down.... nothing happend and the coolant started to over flow.... i unscrewed the screw to let out the air, and nothing happened once again...

so i put the car bak on the ground and started it up.... took it for a spin and the temp stayed the same.. but when i pulled the car over and felt the engine it was extremeley how... any imput anyone.//

How are you filling the coolant from the beginning? You need to follow the proper procedure to make sure it is not simply air locked. There are bleed plugs probably on the block and on the head. These need to be out and as you fill and coolant comes out of them you replace them. Makre sure the heater is set to hot before you even start this process. Once you have filled it this way the FSM suggests that you use a piece of wire to prop the valve on the radiator cap open so that you can start the car, let it get to temp, and rev. it a few times to bleed out excess air.

How do you KNOW it is overheating? Does the gauge just go to hot or is the coolant boiling in the overflow?

Coolant gets bigger when it is hot, more so when you let the motor get too hot and boil the coolant out. Then when it gets cool it gets smaller again. It could also be that some of the air has come out from where ever it was trapped. It sounds like you are picking and choosing steps, it's not working in your favor. You will get it eventually just do the steps in order.

Wes got a step I forgot to add set the heat all the way to the red. The coolant runs into the passenger cabin and can trap bubbles if it is closed

You might want to replace the tstat first. They are much more likely to go bad and much much cheaper to replace.

go with dei radiator relief.

but i doubt the radiator or the water wetter will help.

OK did you even read the advice on PROPERLY filling the radiator or are you just "gonna" keeping throwing parts at a problem without knowing what it is?
