mad break up
hey guys my car is breakin up pretty bad, im running 14psi of boost, once i hit about 6500rpm, in second gear or higher gears it does it, but when in 1st it doesnt do it, this happened the other night, to i thought it was the cap and rotor so i put another on and went for a spin and it seemed to work but now it is doing the same thing it kinda seems worse when it warms up

any ideas any where i should start looking ?

maybe your maxing out the Maf....not getting enough fuel or spark .....what did you do when you started to notice this?...any upgrades which you then started to see this happed....any changes at all ..etc etc...or did you wake up one morning and it suddenly started to happen?

turbo setup may help out also

plugs are good, that was my first guess, im running the bkr7e at .028 turbo is sc61 with 750cc injectors and z32 mafs,

i started noticing it on saturday, i didnt change anything

something i did notice a month ago or so, was a wire seemed broken on the ecu, that was where the safc used to be when i had it, it was a rpm signal, so i fixed it, soldered it, i was gonna look at that tommorrow, anything else you think i should check, i also tried gappin the plugs to .025 and nothing changed

if i rev the motor with no load, it revs fine,

i found no boost leaks, i decided possibly it could be the CAS so i changed out the distributor with a known good working one, and redid the timing, nothing changed seems like it is only doing this when the car is fully warmed up

suggestions ?

drive the engine hard till where it starts to break up and shut the car off right way, then read the plugs, just to make sure you arent running rich when its breaking up.

when you let the car idle and you idle settings are leaner at idle than at WOT, you can get a inconsistant reading on plugs

i think i have figured this out guys, i think the wire on one of the MSD clips for my injectors was loose causing a bad connection, i also gapped the plugs lower to .023, seems like it is working better now, ill check it more tommorrow when it is hotter outside cause that is when it seems to do it
