Wow i didnt know that, im running the same exact set up as draw thru, do we have to make any changes to anything else if we just switch the maf position? I'd love to have the filter right on the turbo so i can have some more room in the engine bay

how much space is required between the trottle body and the MAF and the BOV in a blow through set up ?? I am just asking because things are going top ge tight under my hood when I go turbo , I am going to do a custom air tho water setup for the stealthness and so I do not have to cut the front bumber all up

TB and MAF, 18" is nominal, with minimum bend. IE: One 30~40* bend off of the TB, and no more bends to the MAF. MAF to BOV, is more or less okay anywhere from 8" and further apart.

My BOV is located where the fog light used to be, if that helps you any. The MAF is just about where the stock air box used to be.

yeah paint is the only way to go
my pic should be the go-to pic to understand how blowthrough works hahahaha

and yeah you don't wanna run it extremly close to the tb
but then again has anybody ever looked at an ls1
the maf is like 3 inches away

^^^so is being too close an issue or not? especially if we're lookin at an LS1

i've heard from several sources not no have it close and not on a bend

but what i don't understand is why, no matter the distance from the TB or on a bend the air still goes through the maf and gets read

so i don't know, i would just try to keep it at least 16" away

Bump from DEATH!

I'm new to the world of MAF cars, having only dealt with AFM or MAP based systems before.
I need a concrete answer, can I just place the MAF sensor before the TB and IC and call it a day (running blowthrough?). This is with the stock Avenir ECU. I know, leave around 16in between the TB and MAF sensor.

Searching blowthrough returns 3 threads, blowthru 4, and with a space, millions!

If you run blow thru, you do not need to recirculate. Blow thru puts the sensor on the intercooler piping where it will be subjected to boost. The valve should be between the sensor and the intercooler. Some put it on the hotside piping, but that could potentially damage diaphram type valves from the heat.
