Even more build woes...
So I got everything put back together last night, and tried to start her this morning...
Here's what happened...
I pulled the timing cover (DET), because it was cracked at the top left, allowing oil to dump itself out.
I decided to buy a VE timing cover/oil pump from Greg V. When I purchased it, Greg told me that I have to use the spacer from the DE, if I'm using the DE crank pulley, so I swapped it over.
Now, I needed a GTiR pick up tube, because I kept the VE oil pump cover installed. Got that in, and installed it.
Went forward and put everything back together.
Now, priming the system yields 0 PSI of pressure. I wasn't really paying attention at first, and cranked her over to run for a second. She actually started the first time WOOHOO! But I noticed something nasty sounding, so shut her off. Call another guru and double check oil pressure with him on the line, by starting the car back up, and I've got no oil pressure
I'm hoping that all bearing surfaces are still okay, being that I didn't give it much time to run, but I know that it doesn't take much, either.
So my question:
The DE spacer doesn't seem to fit snuggly in the VE pump housing, meaning that it's not as thick as the VE spacer. My fear is that it actually fell off of the pump and is spinning freely.
Is this possible? If it's not possible, then I need to look at the oil pick up tube or something again.
Please help me out! I need her running so I can get her inspected and registered. The wife is driving me nuts because she needs her car back.
HELP!
