t3/4 60 trim vs 60-1 high-fi vs gt3076r
ok wanting to know peoples opinions on these 3 turbo's

ceramic ball bearing TO4E-60 / F1-57 .63 A/R (t3/4 60 trim stage 3 f1 wheel)

ceramic ball bearing 60-1 hi-fi with the stage 3 wheel as well .63 a/r

and then the gt3076r .64 rear

and just for comparison how would the 50 trim compare to a gt3071r?

just wanting peoples opinions and experiences with these 3 turbos, i am leaning more towards the turbonetics right now as i like the ceramic bb compressor section and the floating rear doesnt bother me and i like the torque behavior of the tubonetics a bit more.

but would like to know opinions and experiences with spool vs power, torque etc.

also what are peoples thoughts on turbonetcs bb vs jb in regards to spool and reliability?

oh yeah i am going to be running on a ve+t with intake close to untouched but a fair wack of porting on the exhaust

What power level are you shotting for? That will help the most with turbo choice.

ok aussie dyno's are a little different so it is hard to zactly say, but over 300rwkw's on ours, so i reckon it would be around 450-500whp on your dyno's

the power the gt3076 puts out i will be happy with, as many of these have done 300rwkw's

even just a comparison between the 3 i will be happy

like for example, how the 60 trim compares to the gt3076 in regards to power and lag. then how much lagier the 60 hi-fi is over the 60trim? is it only a tiny bit of lag for a bit more power? or does it add a bit of lag?

well the gt3076 is dual ball bearing so oviously the spool is going to be better. along with the right AR for your setup i dont think the other turbos compare....the dual ball bearing turbos are pinical of turbo performanc, both in durability and perforance...other turbos just dont compare

^^^ hmm interesting you say this

is this just out of principal or have you had real life expirences or know people with the turbonetics units?

the thing about the turbonectic bearing system is that even though it is still a 360 deg thrust bearing on the zorst side the advances made with the ceramic bb on the compressor is much better for spool than the cartridge based garret bb system.

most of the lag caused by bearings imo comes from the compressor side as resistance is placed through the shaft then onto the to the bearings. where as the zorst side has fast hot air pushing directly over the wheel that sits very close bearing so to speak so the resistance is less.

So theoretically the better designed compressor bearing set up with a bush rear could be less laggy than the duel cartridge bb garret unit. i tend to think this would be especially true with lag compressor small turbine sets ups suited to small displacement engines. however this is just my opinion feel free to list off flaws in my logic

so if anyone has experiences with these ceramic bb turbo's that would be great thanks

What about a GT3071R?

well it is an option and i can get one cheap, but would prefer a t3 flange, the one i can get cheap is t2

I am a fan of the 3071 compard to the 3076 because the 76 is laggier then the 71 and the power increase between the 2 in not much.

seems like sort of a bold statement to me.

how important is spool on a ve?

if you have a stock botom end then i would want some lag and make the torque band hapen at the highest rpm possable

kinda like the honda dudes

also the ve needs more exhause flow than a 64 ar exhaust housing can offer.
the 64 will choke top end power and not take advantage of the big cams

but if you really hate lag then its a compromise where you gota pick big power or fast spool.

garrett and nissan go way back and most nissan guys are garrett loyal .
but i am a hp junkie and i know turbonetics makes a better turbo .
you pay for what you get and they aint cheap

the ceramic bearings are wicked long life and very fast spool

the 60-1 hi-fi with the stage 3 wheel is a bad bitch and i cant imagine you regreting it and if you have got the scratch to try some of the optinal turbine wheels you could out spool and out power any thing garrett has to offer and use a 86 or bigger ar
