When my poor ass can afford some haha! I would like to run some nice big slicks, but I just don't have the money at the moment. So I am gonna see how far these all-seasons will get me. Once the car gets moving it will really move, but the launch is gonna kill my time. I am just gonna shoot for the highest mph I can.

Man, you know the deals are out there. I was surfing the net and found a pair of used Hoosier R6 tires in my size for $80 shipped from Cali to MD. lol On a BMW forum just by doing a google search.

Here's what I did.

R/T .511
60' 2.29
330 6.02
1/8 8.93
mph 88.5
1000 11.32
1/4 13.31
mph 114.00

The times are not that good, I only got two passes. I kept everything in complete street form. I am running 205/55r15 Fuzion Hri tires set at 35psi. I couldn't hook for anything of course.

Andy good job on your times man! I bet you are excited!

I should also say this. I set my boost at 23psi on the bleeder on the way down to the track. The temp outside dropped as we were waiting and I only was actually putting out 20psi peak dropping to 19psi! The temp changed my boost setting. I didn't think of even looking at the guage while I was racing. I was just too busy with everything else. I don't think the extra boost would have helped anyway. I was pretty much at the limit of the tire's abilities.

I get done racing and was playing on the freeway. Car was pulling insane, but when I looked at the guage it was only reading a steady 19psi. Poop.

13.3 is pretty good for street tires IMO, get some decent slicks youll be low 12s for sure with those traps maybe even possbily high elevens, what time did you leave last night ? i left at 1:20ish after my second pass

Ya I am guessing about an 11.9 with 1.8 60'. Car pulls like crazy up top, but not quite as good as yours I see. My 4th gear tops out at 130+ so it isn't the best gearing to accelerate from. But the pull is long and hard! The wider gears help with traction, but I think they ultimately slow me down a bit.

btw I left right after my second run. I wanted to stay and wait for you but my starter just took a dump and at the time I thought it was my battery so I didn't want to hang around too long and push my luck.

High gears are good man, they help to create more load so the turbo works better, helps to control the crazy turbo torque and the car just accelerates like crazy, instead of losing time changing lots of gears.

What you need is an electronic boost controller, slicks and lots of practice, get some race gas and go make some 24psi passes.
