damn straight number chasing is fun up to a certain point, and its wicked and all to say you have 500+hp, but when it gets in the way of the drivability of the car then you have gone too far.

also one thing i want to ask ya, is when you changed to vewt cams did the toque hit so much harder? i defiantly think the 6.6mm low ex of the ve cams is a restriction and might possibly have an effect of torque

couldn't agree more. as you can advance the timming around where the boost kicks in and get it comming on harder and earlier

The VET cams hit a lot harder. The cams spool the turbo faster and pull really hard on the top end. I don't think the cams will be a restriction for some time. They may look small but they perform great.

yeah i thought this would be the case tbh....well all besides better top end. The low duration high lift combo the vet's offer is great for low down response and torque. A well set up bigger duration cam will be better for top end if it wasnt for the overlap issue. i imagine the ramp rate of the vet's are very aggressive.

i also think you should play around with switching earlier, from memory you are switching at 6k? imo this is far to high for you cam selection. i would obviously have a play but the 4200-5200 range would be better suited imo. when do they switch stock?

if i have the time and $$ might set up a nice custom made set, i already have a fair idea of what i want, its just a matter of testing them on the dyno
