Straight rod or bent on Forge Motorsports BOV?
Some time back, I remember discussing a Forge Motorsports BOV with @BenFenner.

Can't remember if I need the bent rod......

This bent rod?

Or the straight rod....

The straight rod?

Uh....I assume the Advanced Search does not work for anybody else? Cause it no worky for me.

Also, do I need any of the Valve Spring Tuning Kits?

Valve Spring Tuning Kit?

What say you turbo gurus? Straight or bent? Valving kit or no?

Hey Shawn B, Hope all is well with you. You are missed. Stay well, see you in Florida, I hope.

The links don't automatically makes links for themselves. I will fix yours.

Searches are still broken.

Other turbo guys can help you out since I am rather anti-snail.

All is well. I miss the forum and many of you as well.

About to get my ride fully and professionally sorted. Which is probably going to eat up my play-toy budget and time-off for 2018. We'll see.

Thanks for the proper links.

Long time no talk, Friend. I believe you mean wastegate actuator (as opposed to BOV). That said, I've utilized the straight rod Forge piece on my NX back when i used a GTIR turbo. From what I remember, the piece had amazing appeal and was well constructed. I DO remember having to shim it on the stock bracket a little bit to get it to clear the t3 compressor housing on the GTIR, I also drilled additional holes on the bracket to get a little insurance but I think that was it.

See pictures below

Shawn, great to hear from you! I've been wondering when we'd get an update. The forum has undergone some huge changes, and not everything works just yet. Sorry...

As for your question, you want the straight rod. Here are the two relevant posts from my build thread for more info:

The exact dimensions I gave them to build the first one are in that first link if they need to build another one custom for you (they shouldn't need to though).

Honestly, Forge should know exactly what you need if you tell them that it's for a GTI-R turbo setup, or tell them it's the same one they sold me. You do have a GTi-R style turbo setup, right?

I'm sorry Shawn I didn't answer your last question. The wastegate will come with a valve spring. You don't need to buy the valve spring tuning kit, because you'll have a spring. Now if you get very particular and want to run a specific level of boost without using a boost controller, then you may need the spring kit, but that's easily purchased later on if you find the need.
