Lol, it's not wrapping the TMIC. It's making a shield underneath so heat can't go upwards into the IC. I'd rather not get an entire gtir intercooler set up and worry about hood clearance issues. If I wanted to get rid of the heat at it's source id be better off taking out the DET.

Get a bigger more efficient turbo. It will reduce both intake charge and exhaust temps.

Ditch the turbo, swap in a GA16 with a radiator out of a Kenilworth and your underhood temps will be in the Arctic range.

Jay, I wish I had better info for you. My IAT sensor is right before the throttle body so I don't have any ambient temp readings, nor any from the hot side of the charge pipes.
To give you an idea, when I see intake temps at the throttle body higher than 140°F then I start to add fuel and pull timing gradually up to 155°F where I add the most fuel and pull the most timing above that.

If you want to measure ambient temps under the hood in FL I would think 300°F max might be necessary.
If you want to measure intake air temps before the turbo I would think 200°F max would be fine.
If you want to measure temps on the hot side of the charge pipes, I would think 300°F would be a good max for a gauge.
If you want to measure intake air temps after the intercooler, I would think the same 200°F max on a gauge would be plenty (see above example).

Thank you Ben !! Finally...this is the type of response I was looking for...not trying to change up the whole setup...just need some temperature data.
And also thanks to everyone else for your contributions,as its always appreciated.
I ended up getting some small temp gauges that read to 260 F so hopefully they will work for the intercooler temps in and out...not so much worried about nderhood just yet,but eventually when I go to vent the hood to see what changes
