There is a guy here in Hawaii selling a brand new one for $300, so I am considering picking it up to replace my GTI-R T28.

LMK what you guys think!

They are junk and all they are doing is resale something you can get for $175 ... WLR GT2870 GT28 GT2871 compressor housing AR 60 turbine a/r .64 T25 flange 5 bolt with actuator Turbocharger turbo WLR TURBO31-in Air Intakes from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

To be fair, it does look completely different to what Twisted motion sells? Is there any proof their turbo's are junk? Dyno sheets or so. Apparently they do balance their "China" shafts.... that usually seems to be the issues with those knock off turbo's

I have seen three of these 2871r turbos run in person.

1st one; Worked great on a det but was only on the car for about 3k miles. Then the owner forgot to tighten the oil lines after installing a new manifold.....that one is now waiting repair

2nd one; Worked great on a ve+t but the owner forgot to tighten the compressor housing bolts all the way and after a few thousand miles it came loose and killed the turbo

3rd one; working great on a ka24de+t build.

Also I have tuned two civics running the T3 T04E/GT28 turbo.

1st civic; has been running the turbo on 10 psi for about 4 months now. Not a single issue

2nd civic; ran this turbo for about a month, made over 400whp on 21psi. Car was parted out after a few thousand miles.

I also have a modified 3582r from twisted for my car. I will let you know how it works out once the engine is broken in.

I have the one, transaction sale was great, that gave me enough confidence to bite the bullet for the gt2871, box came in nice and secured, what surprised me was when i opened it 1st thing i pulled was a certificate sheet that showed the balanced dyno numbers which gave me more confidence also the fact the the seller told me 1 year warranty against anything s, blown seals, any issue he would replace for free within 1 year, he also mentioned even if the 1yr warranty expired and something happened after the warranty he would still help me get a replacement which i thought it was pretty awesome and ordered right then and there, mine was running for a year and 1 month this april strong, i checked for any leaks No signs at all, i checked for any shaft play still as good as the 1st day i checked for shaft play, i thought what was the purpose of buying a used gtir turbo if at least with this one a have a full warranty if anything ever happens to this one , only down side that i will warn people yes it is obvious that it has bigger/heavier wheels hence spool will start to build boost around 4700 on mine with s4 cams 4700k rpm i thought for me was a perfect time to take off when i was smoking the competition (hondous) i did 10psi for a couple weeks tto break it in even though the seller said it need No break-in time intall and boost but i took care of mine , after 2 weeks than i boosted to 15psi and i loved it , you cant beat the price, i used mine for most of the time daily, 60+ miles every day breaking people's neck on the freeway blasting 15psi on thier face, i love that saying BOOST IS BOOST! And will recommend it anyday to anyone looking for a quick fix knowing in the back of your mind f anything ever happens blown seals of anything you will be cover, again this at least mine was balanced and i believed that is the main reason it still has no shaft play of course its still a journal bearing and it will never compare to a ball bearing spool just expect the boost to kick in little later just like Jesus said, if you dont like boost above 4500 then dont buy it you cant always ball up and buy the 1300$ genuine item.

Let me refrased it i was prob at full 15 psi around 4700 start to build boost +1psi around 37ish rpm lets say d16z6 n/a will pull up in front of me on 1st gear 2nd gear was all fake hope for him and he will stay behind like a honda should after that reason why i found my sweet spot to brake boost on 2 or 3rd gear around 4700rpm i found it perfect zone anything below that espect the other guy to pull in infront of you but i still would eventually catch him, that was when i realize it was worth every penny, lot of cars got smoked by this fake turbo, vetts, sti's and cammed jeeps srt8's, viper trucks, cadillact coupe i believe the one that has vett engine inn, a lot of guys got erased from my black list thanks to this turbo so i hope my review helps a bit

I would like to install the turbo on my w10, but the lag is large, How many psi is the maximum that supports this turbo?

Injectors what do you use?

Sometimes you just cant have it all , t25 i had before this one and literally it was instant power but right after 6700rpm the party was over for me, with the t28 that i got from tm party kept hitting hard the way to 7500 sometimes 7800rpm if your not careful and fast enough with your shifts, thats where i understand what lag really meant, my friends told me to do not exeed 18psi on this turbo although i think i remember on tm website it states like 22 max or something so 15 for me was my limit on stock 9.5:1 lowport with stock asbestos head gasket and stock head bolts, i was using 550ccs or the experts like to call them 520ccs sti injectors whats 30ccs right lol @ 4bar and never had any issues although here in Colorado in the beginning of winter really get freezing cold at nights and sometimes it'll mess up my afrs but i i always kept an eye on mine and pull out the gas pedal if something didn't look right , but nothing to worry if you live in nice waether all year round like cuernavaca morelos lol i am installing a metal head gasket on a rebuild engine i just got and some arp head bolts and will prob reflash my jwt ecu since i never had any issues to bump up the tune to 850cc i got laying around and probably will hit 18-20 psi this time around and i will update this thread my goal is to be ready within the next couple months

Also since i never got attractive to a turbo timer i always let me car cooled down on idle let the oil cooled down on all the meets i was always pretty much the last guy who would shut down the engine last , even though i had the water line hooked up i still let my turbo cool down after some hard pulls so idk i always was picky about that maybe it has something to do maybe not, also i always kept a magnetic oil drain plug on my oil pan to keep any metal debris away from the turbo bearing little things that one not think can go far on the effects of longevity

I wouldn't buy one for the fact that is slow to boost. Slow boosting hurts the midrange and will make the car feel laggy or slow until way up in the rpm band. Proper legit turbo will improve the power band everywhere and make the car faster as a result with less effort from the engine or driver.

I would also like to remove the t25 journal bearing and put a t28 gtir
