GT2560r, anyone ?
Few days ago, my T25BB has K.O.

I did a purchase on this GT2560r, however been really busy havent got the time to replace my dead turbine, will try to do it next week.

I salvaged it from SR20VET (Xtrail motor), it was rated 280ps on the motor.

Im hoping to get around 250whp on my B14.....

So, Anyone using this turbine ? How much WHP do you get from GT2560r on a stock DET ?

They are pretty much the same thing as a GTIR turbo. The difference between the two are trim of the turbine (also 10 blade vs 11 blade) because of the housings .64 VET .86 GTIR. Both are journal bearing. Compressor wheels are the same. The only thing that sucks is the VET has a odd ball EX flange, I'm in the process of making one now for a setup.

I've owned two 2560R's and they were both ball bearing. Loved that little baby on my SE-R and Miata.

the only thing Im worried is the durability.....

my T25BB was ball bearing, and nobody wants to service it in my country. ppl only service journal bearing turbos here....

lets home my new GT2560r will last long enough for the money i paid

If your turbos were ball bearing they weren't from a Xtrail. The true 2560R's that you would order from ATP or any Garrett distributor are BB. Was just pointing that out so people aren't confused between the two. I have rebuilt Xtrail Turbo's and have had them balanced, they do have journal bearings. (The journal bearings are also coated like race main bearings)

Yes, they are journal bearing. At least you can rebuild it super cheap

Yeah, a lot of mixed info out there on everything. One guy says ball bearing and everyone says it without checking... I have actually torn them down and have the coated journal bearings sitting on my desk. They take standard Garrett T28 length bearings. I carry the journal bearings and compressor wheels at work for them. I find it amazing that the VET still carries the exact compressor wheel from the GTIR that was built like a million years ago.
