Thread: next mods?

well, you guys have been a big help. lots of lurking and found pretty much all of my answers without asking newb questions and getting flamed.

now im gonna ask a question.

ive got a redtop rwd sr
je pistons
eagle rods
cosworth head gasket
stock cams
gt2871r turbo
tubular manifold
3" inch megan dp
3" circuit sports exhaust
fmic
740cc rc injectors
jwt ecu
z32 maf
spec stage 3 6 puck clutch
20lbs daily driver

what should my next mod(s) be?
im thinking s14 tb or jwt stage 3 cams.
i cant afford the cams just yet (trying to go on vacation), still want them though.
im also looking into getting a 1 piece driveshaft and some better engine/trans mounts.

what id REALLY like to do is ditch the 2871 for a top mount gt30 or gt35.

ideas?

the 35r is a bit laggy. The 2871 has options that can put it in the 450+whp range from what I hear. I think that cams are the best choice for now. They will add prob 30-40whp with that setup.

Why not pick up a set of Brian Crower cams? My brother has the cams/springs/retainters in his S13SR with a GT2871R and the car rolls out HARD. Havent been to the dyno yet but it made a HUGE power increase.

My vote goes to nitrous.

what compresson pistons?

if you have under 9.0 to 1 comp the go with stage 2 cams if you have 9.0 to 1 then go stage 3 or s3 s4 cams

if you go to big with low compresson pistons you will loose torque and have a realy shaty idle

ive got the 8.5 pistons.
so stage 3 isnt recommended, huh?
so heres what i think ill get
1. cams (gotta figure out which stage) - arent jwt "drop in" while the bc's have to be shimmed?
2. s14 tb
3. greddy i/m
4. u/r underdrive pulley

huh? 9.0 to 1 or 9.0 to 1?



shimming only needed if you get S/R. your a RWD guy get HKS step 2's with a 264 intake and 272 exhaust duration.
