I would just plug it in to see if it goes away. If it's persistant, reset the ECU codes and see what happens. If it still comes up, you may have to end up putting it back in the system, somehow Let me know how it goes. I'd hate to have to put my 98 IM back on. It's ugly!

That's what I'm talking about. Plug the EGRC sensor back in. It's one of the sensors that was on the back of the IM on the black bracket. Think it's the one on the left side. Lemme look at the FSM and I'll post which one it is.

TEKK, I don't feel like reading trough the thread but, if you need the older style manifold i have one.

Keo, I got one, thanks I just haven't finished, and fired her up yet. I'm close, though. Should have her primed (again) and fired tonight, HOPEFULLY!

The EGRC sensor is the three way vacuum solenoid on the back of the intake manifold, closest to the throttle body (the one on the driver side of that black intake bracket).

Just plug it back in and see what happens.

You have a 95-97 Intake manifold?

Is this the black sensor? I think Only removed 4 sensors and i narrowed 2 down 1's like brown the other is black. its kinda a PITA to get to also haha

Not sure if it's the black or orange capped sensor. I'd have to look at it again.

A little update:

I let the car warm up today while checking coolant and some other items, and I don't receive a CEL for removing any of the above mentioned sensors. I'll have to poll the ecu to see if there are any hidden codes that don't throw a CEL.

This is with Calum's EGR removal resistor mod.

Time will tell, but I think we've found a solution to the nasty 98 Intake manifold and 20 extra feet of un-needed vacuum lines that run to the un-used sensors.
