$60, then I'd guestimate $100 for a re-balance. Not a bad price for peace of mind.

Im not sure exactly how long it's going to take to get my upgraded turbo parts so I would want to make this a reliable rebuild. I was probly just going to go with the Gt28rs turbo as far as the upgrade. But between the turbo, injectors, maf tune it's going to add up.

Yeah I have to see what compressor wheel fits and also read about some being cheaper then others.

Thanks for the info

From what I have read the compressor wheel from a t28 will fit but the housing needs to be machined out so the fins don't rub

For sure, I'd find a genuine garrett wheel to use instead of any other brand. For the center section I was curious because if it's the same housing for the bearings then could probably get a gt28 turbine wheel/shaft and turbine housing. Then a gt2871 compressor wheel and housing and just assemble it together and have it sent for balancing. If the center t25 bearing section is the same, it would be a lot cheaper to go that route of turning it into a t28 than buying a brand new t28 for $1200 +

Ok nevermind that. I just priced it all out, without a balancing it would be around $900 for a gt2871 turbine shaft, housing, compressor wheel and compressor housing. Not a huge significance in savings. While it would be easier to budget getting a piece at a time, not sure it would really be worth it!

BTW where have you seen the GT28r for that price?

Yes didn't think so haha. and I apologize. it wasn't that low in price. its actually $739.00 for the GT28R on JGY customs website. I was going to get the turbo then little later injectors then maf etc little by little .

Yeah I think that set up would be perfect. At least for me. It will be daily driven fun car but I do have a Jeep for bad weather and two bikes. So it doesn't matter that the sentra is down now.

I appreciate it. If I upgrade to a t28 its going to be either the gt28r or rs and new.

I'm not sure about your budget, and I never used to condone cheapo turbos ......but look into the twisted motion gt2871. It's a copy but the company twisted motion (google them) has them built and balanced. We installed one on the stock det manifold and j pipe. The car is a street animal now and the turbo has had no issues. Call twisted motion and ask them for the fwd det turbo they make. Also the price on this turbo is stupid cheap (eBay china turbo prices). Good luck.... I'm not posting a link because they are not a forum vender so look them up on your own.

I will def look into that. If I upgrade the turbo I would still need to upgrade injectors maf and ecu rite? Or could I run the bigger turbo and just not get the full potential of it until I can source the other pieces ?

Hmm id say you could do the turbo first as long as you limit the boost until you can upgrade the injectors.

You can upgrade the turbo and keep the boost low 7-8psi with no I'll effects. The nice thing is that when your ready a set of 550cc or 50lb inj n62/n60 maf and tuning at 15psi you have yourself an easy 300hp car.

that seems reasonable. kind of sucks because I couldnt find to many positive reviews on that turbo and it has been around for a while now.
