Thread: Would you run these S4's in your car?

I have a used set of S4's and they look pretty beat up. I don't think I should run them in my car in this condition but I'm far from an expert. I did talk to a few local shops about them and most of them advised me not to use them in the car. What do you guys think?

It depends on the car. how much $$ have you put into this car? Is it your only car? Is it a toy? Only the 1 scored lobe looked bad enough to make me think twice, but if its for fun, who cares. Ha

I have enough into the car that I'm kicking myself in the butt for buying used cams. It's not my only car but the engine is fresh and I don't want to screw anything else up.

Yeah, that lobe would probably chew up your rocker over time and you don't want little metal bits going through your motor.

Someone popped a rocker arm off
With them and it nicked it up I've seen it a few times, and have run the cams anyway and haven't had a problem, but it's up to you, the nicks are pretty far over I doubt they would even contact the pad on the rocker arm. There will deffinitly be accelerated wear if it is though..
