Sometime it shifts, sometimes it skips 2nd and if you really get into it the car runs 1st all the way to redline an will just peg the rev limiter until you let off the gas and then it shifts to 2nd then immediately to 3rd. It's only on the upshift from 1st though as if it kicks down from 3rd or 4th it'll snag 2nd and run like a raped ape and shift normally after that.

This sounds like the 1-2 shift valve hanging up in the bore due to wear/burring. High load/line pressure exacerbates the problem. The transgo kit addresses this among other known flaws.
Basically you chamfer a land in the valve bore to smooth the operation

Thanks for the input. So your saying the transgo kit will make it worse but also fixes other issues?

Maybe I'll take out the valve body and and see what's up, if I can fix it by smoothing the bore the. I'll just let it ride. Makes sense though as when I floor it or put the trans in "power mode" the issue does seem worse. I always leave it in normal though. Flooring it probably increases pressure and makes it get hung up which may explain why it refuses to shift like that.

Lmao, glad I stumbled across this. I have the exact same car at the shop that I'm going to boost for a DD. It's Auto as well and the trans is shot. No R and only has 1, 2. Scan tool shows a shift to 3, 4 but the solenoid must be stuck. Looking forward to it.

Nice work.

To be honest I don't think a shift kit will fix any trans problems. It also won't hurt anything either. If you are having shifting problems I would start with the valve body first since it's easy access. Also would suggest just grabbing a spare at a junkyard to shift kit if it's your first. After using the shift kit I was a little scared about the streetability the way the company says "race only" but it's not like the old shift kits that slam gears and bark the tires every time. It's still gradual with the TPS like it should be. We will probably put one in our Sentra SE soon since I just put a 68k mile motor and tranny in it. Most of these RE4F03x trannys make it at least 140-165k before they start to have issues. Seen solenoid failure, brake band snapping, worn clutches.

It's not pretty but functional. My brother helped me get the dual injector manifold finished Saturday. We did this with a hand drill, grinder, dremel, and tig welder. The welding wasn't going well so we went over everything with JB weld epoxy afterwards to make sure there were no pinholes. This manifold will allow us to run the stock 306cc injectors with the factory ECU and the FIC6 fuel table will control the second bank of injectors. I'm going to reuse the Bosch EV6 440cc in bank 2. The car should run completely stock and have the factory feel this way. We also can run a second fuel cell with external pump if we want to run e85 on the second bank if we really want to screw around

Are all RE4F03* valve bodies the same? The chances of finding another automatic SE-R at salvage yard is slim.

Is there a way to have a transbrake on one of these trannies.

I haven't played with any Pre 2k RE4f03x trannys yet. I have a 83k 99' RE4F03A I may get into next summer.... I'm pretty sure if I remember right the wiring going into the tranny is different from 99' to 00'-up.

Trans Brake would be awesome, but I haven't seen any Nissan tranny kit for that yet. Would have to figure out how to use a GM kit or something.

Got the wiring done on the FIC6 patch cable and also the extra injector wiring. Also got the fuel rail mounts done. The old manifold is ready to come off, just a little more work before we can test and tune.

Got the manifold back on this morning and it all fit well. Finishing the wiring up tonight. Hopefully get it tuned tomorrow.
