Unusable? no? Would make them perfectly usable for turbo, pop them in at 0-0. Unlike 20v's which ideally need dialing in

I did not have to dial in my 20v's but would love to see some data on adjusting the cams.

Is this just the ex cam? Sounds like he used both, The intake cam is tiny.

Was vvl switched on the ex side?

Someone already did. Coohed did with his turbo build with dyno results too.

True, but I thought he didn't' switch the exhaust high lobes on? I may be wrong.

You don't HAVE to dial them in but it's good to, I think it was 4 or 6 + on the intake that would work best

Quite sure he was running both vet cams not just the exhaust like what I'm proposing, again the vet intake cam is rubbish.

Don't think he was aware of the full specs of the vet ex ether

I came across this too nearly 10 years ago. At the time I came to the assumption that it was made from the same billet casting as the "20V" and nissan just ground the low lobe to suit this application. I never got a chance to measure the spec on the cam profile so this is good information.

Yup it looks like this is the case

I dont think nissan ever had the intention of making the VET to be a serious performer. It was all build to generate homologation number for the S15 GT300 engines. The silvia was planned to continue after the S15 with the VET as the powerplant in GT300.

Heres some pics of the nismo SR20VET racing engine used. Only one car used it.

Sorry for spamming the thread. Not sure if you guys knew or were interested in this.
