GTIR B13 Swap HELP
Hey guys, I bought B13 with a GTIR swap, The car was running with an Avenir ECU with the GTIR 444cc Injectors, BUT it Won't Start with the GTIR ECU and the 444cc Injectors, It Only Turns Over But Wont Start. Ive Tested the Avenir ECU after And it Started Right up. My real question is, Do the Injectors Need the Resistors or Does the GTIR ECU need The resistors? and Being that the 444cc Injectors Starts with the Avenir ECU, Does That Mean My GTIR ECU Is Bad?

The injector's are low impedance they will need resistors regardless to work. Im sure whoever you bought it from new this and wired them in but I'd try to check the harness to see if you can see anywhere they may have been spliced in. Prob by the injector or maybe by the ecu. Dave

What maf is in the car? The gtir and standard det don't use the same maf. Your best bet is to use an safc on top of the ecu to adjust and tune for injectors.

Im gonna bet theres no resistors wired in or the gtir ecu is burnt out

So the gtir injectors will only work if the resistors are in? The injectors work with the Avenir ecu but not with the Gtir ecu. So therefore the ecu is bad? I checked where the injectors are spliced in but there are no resistors, if I buy the resistors which wires do I put them on in the injector harness? Ground? Are the ground wires the thinner wires with the black stripes or are they the thicker ones? The car currently has a Gtir maf.

That's what I'm trying to figure out, but I need to know if the GTIR ecu requires the resistors or the injectors themselves required them. If the car runs while the Avenir ecu is in with the GTIR injectors, does that mean resistors are installed?

The injectors need the resistors as they are low impedance. Are they in fact gtir injectors, Are they top feed? Dave

Yes they are top feed GTIR yellow injectors, so that means resistors are installed and the GTIR ecu is no good? Since the injectors do work with the Avenir ecu and not the GTIR ecu.

I would say that that is a correct assumption. If you know anyone with another gtir ecu test theres to see if it starts your car up. Is there anything that looks like this in around the engine bay. . That's the oem gtir resistor box. Dave

Unfortunately I don't know anyone with another gtir ecu in my area. The resistors box would be around the injector harness no? I haven't seen the resistors box in the bay but I will take another look after work. I removed the tape from the injector harness and saw where they spliced but no resistors are wired in as well.
