Borg Warner Turbos
Anybody here using borg warner turbos? I know a lot of Honda guys use them. Seems that the go to turbo is the precision 6262 around here. Just curious, im looking for something comparable to the 6262 and the BW turbos seem a little better priced. But it seems most BW turbos are T4 exhaust housings. Im looking to see around 550whp.

Is @chapnutz1 still banned? Think he's used them. @ashtonsser used at least 1 BW turbo.

They are fairly good turbos.

One thing to note on the T4: a twin scroll T4 is not as big as it sounds depending on the turbine A/R.

BW was quite popular back a few years ago with the Airwerkes series. I think their new EFR series is decent too although have not heard much about them. Most still do run Precision but I for one have much better experience and "luck" with Garrett stuff.

Most of BW stuff is journal bearing, I personally like the ball bearing stuff. Precision has had their own issues with stuff on their turbo's im sure if you googled you'll find a ton.

Price point wise from least expensive:

#1 Precision
#2 BW EFR
#3 Turbonetics
#4 Garrett

Performance wise:
#1 Garrett
#2 Precision
#3 Turbonetics
#4 BW

yea the more ive been searching, im finding i may just stick with trust worthy garrett for my next turbo. Either a Gt3582R or a PTE 6262 journal bearing, or if i hit the lotto a GTX35R.

I ran a BW on one of my car and really liked it but it was laggy. I'm installing a BW T04b on a car right now so I'll let you know how it goes if you still care. I fins garret way over priced, I run presisions now and have had great results.

The new efr series stuff is actually in some cases better than the Garrett equivalent.

The 7163 is a perfect example of this. Also, Kojima and crew went with a new efr series and the indycar series is spec efr 7153!

The new efr stuff is no joke! I'll post a dyno shortly

Dyno #'s really dont prove how well a turbo operates. Data and flow sheets do the talking. You can crank up the boost and say it made more power than a Garrett unit. Compare apples to apples. I have yet to see any turbo compared apples to apples out perform a Garrett unit. Hell, half of these companies use Garrett center catridges anyways and just do their "modifications" to their wheels to say it makes more "power". Ask Precision what they did in the beginning and then decided to offer a more "cost effective unit" by outsourcing their center catridges and what started happening to their turbos.
