Thread: Please confirm what this is... (PIC INSIDE)

So I havn't had the car long, 200sx, SR20DET swap... and I just found this all nicely taped up. Isn't this the Air temp sensor that should be mounted onto my intake tube so the ECU can adjust for Air temp?

If so, can anyone think of ever a reason (OR TUNE) that would exclude the use of it? The ecu has been tuned, I have not been able to get the details yet... but again, shouldn't it be mounted right near the charge pipe and near the intake manifold so the temp it measures is the temp entering the engine?

Ambient air temp sensor. Mostly useless. It does not affect the tune.

OK I didn't think it was critical but you never know.
