HX35 Turbo??
I have a 98 Nissan 200sx Se-r, My brother gave me the turbo off his dodge pick up! I have read they use the HX35 on Sr20s for drifting and such but no solid info on them! So if you know about these turbos on our B14s please comment below! Im buying a mani this weekend and want to kinda do a top mount. Any suggestions on this set up is greatly appreciated!

Those a great turbos, large for your car but with supporting parts very doable. To run the turbo the correct way your looking at a good chunk of $$ and time. You might be better off selling it and using the money to get a simple fwd t25 kit.

ive used holsets for quite some time, on my personal car i used the hx40 which is a great responding turbo, they are just famous for breaking the shaft, my friend on the other hand has great success with the hx35, they are oil cooled turbo so no need for water lines, the factory exhaust housings can be bulky but if your gonna use them 12cm is perfectly sized for us. i opted and used a BEP housing for my 40.

this is a hx40 making a couple passes on a rough map on low boost, missed 3rd in the video and taking it easy from there, but you can see how responsive it is, that being said, these turbos dont wake up until after 20+psi i had mine up 26psi with no hiccups. pulls like a freight liner

The DSM forums have a lot of information regarding this turbo, most hx35 are 56mm inducers turbos, they flow around 574cfms and are efficent in the mid 400 region, ( people have made plenty more)

my car was built on a modest budget, the set up in the video is a bone stock low port motor, with a jdm roller rocker intake manifold (no particular reason) with siemens 80lb injectors (top feed high z) and a custom top feed rail, bosch 044 inline as well as a walbro intake, fuel lab regulator and about 5 bar fuel pressure, stock high port cams, Aem ems ls1 coils and many more things. this turbo is a great turbo to use, over the years prices have increasted dramatically because people realize that they are decent, flow well and quickly and very reliable.

I just put one on my VE, completely stock engine, not even head studs (although I'm regretting that now) tubular mani, ID1000's, 3" turbo back exhaust running on e85. I replaced my gt3076 because of shaft play. with the gt and log mani. I put down 372whp @ 1bar, with the HX35 and tubular I made 389whp @12.7psi. I know the manifold really helped but this turbo hits hard when it spools, it is more laggy than the gt but now that it's tuned (thanks John @JK Tuning great job) I'm loving this thing. if you're doing a drag car I think this is a perfect Affordable turbo, just do head studs and maybe springs and retainers so you can get full potential from the turbo. my final numbers were 428hp 348tq @ 1bar, if I would have done studs before I put the engine in we could have pushed it more, this is a daily driver so I wanted to stay somewhat safe.
