checking boost leak
i dont really know how to check boost with a car that is being recirculated so crim insisted to connect it to the intake pipe. When i check the gauge it wont hold 6psi or more it just slowly goes down to zero. Is that how you check for boost leaks by connecting it to the intake pipe?

Yes, that's fine. You can connect it to the intake pipe as your BOV is recirculated, if I understaned you correctly.

You will indeed get bleed off, it shouldn't hold that pressure.

You REALLY ought to push a lot more than 6 psi though. Go for 30~35psi and then you'll be able to hear any leaks.

Sure thing. I'm still going thru the same thing at the moment. I've already found two leaks, and it's still not running just right at idle. I have a feeling there's still one or two leaks hiding from me. I'm going to put 35psi thru it again and see what I can feel on the back of the motor.

Do you have to replace those butterfly clips on the air reg hose and brake booster with clamps? I don't know I'm just wondering about it. Are they strong enough to take boost?

They should? Most nipples are the type with the flared ends, so if the butterfly clips are holding the hose tight enough, they should be secure against the flare. I put about 30psi thru it this morning and the hoses with the butterfly clips are holding.

It's to the point now where I'm using a vacuum line as a stethoscope to listen for any small leaks thruout the engine bay. KINDA hard to do because the quick connect is leaking a bit.
