Make sure when its all put together and you first start it up that you closely monitor the pressure with an aftermarket gauge, and if you drive it make sure the pressure is correct before you give any significant throttle? Perhaps use a thinner viscosity oil too at first just to make sure it's easier and lighter to get pumped around
There's a lot of DET blocks with VVL heads out there. My car included and I have zero issues. I am using the VVL pump though but have done some with DET pumps with no problems.

What's the difference between the two that's the problem?
We use the VVL HGs on DETs and DE with no problem.
The RWD block are more different than the FWD blocks and the VVL head work good on it with the VVL pump.

Thanks for the reply's.
The reason im looking to use the pump on the det is because in Jamaica there aint no good vvl blocks not using here. If u come upon a block, the pump would have been taken off already or more than likely the pump had failed causing it to damage bearings.
I'd try calling Greg @ Gspec during regular business hours tomorrow (Pacific time) and tell him what you need. He can probably get you the pump as on his site he has a few oil related items for the VE. The # is 760-535-2259
