Doug Fab suggests externally wastegated T2. I like the idea, but it would require me to get a T2 turbo without an internal wastegate, which I haven't been able to find. I've mostly been looking at garrett though. I'll check out precision and greddy today.

running a t2 external gate is real simple. two spot welds on the flapper and a brace on the arm. this makes the process easy to reverse. Remember if you start with a t2 manifold your turbo options are limited. if you start with a t3 manifold you can still run a t2 based turbo with a garrett t25 plus housing which gives you a t3 mounting flange and no internal gate.
