VE-T gasket has been the choice for some smaller lower power builds. Apexi, Tomei, Cosworth etc are all good gaskets for the slightly higher builds. Just be sure you run a good "stopper" style gasket.

ARP units have been revised to bottom out and they are using ARP2000 material also on them. They are a little bit less expensive but depends on who you buy them from:-p

Bumping this up. Had a few questions since Im doing this tommorrow. What torque sequence should I follow. 20-40-(65-70)ft lbs fine? Also, anyone know the torx size off hand for the mazworx studs? Lastly, what is the torquing pattern that should be followed?

you need to follow the oem pattern for the head studs. the torque steps seem fine. make sure to tighten the studs to 12-14in/lb in the block before putting the nuts on. also use the lube that comes with the studs on the nuts. the studs go into the block dry.

When i rebuilt my VE this winter, i went with a VET headgasket and Mazworx headstuds. I was happy with both, atleast quality wise so far and i had zero issues with installing the studs.

I'm not in a VE-T but a DE-T. I built using a VVL headgasket and ARP studs. 14 psi all day for 30k miles so far, no issues yet.

Still running that snail you sold me @daveracer ;-)
