What brand wastegate is that?

Ok, double check on the resonator the only one that does not affect power is the perforated core.
Louvered ones kill power as well as this type that I had a issue with on a forum members car.

All motor Vvl was killing power over 15whp lost. When Vvl would kick in it would dip before it climbed.

The one you want to use is the one on the left.
.
I used the Louvered one (right) and it killed my power.

That forum members car @eggman on his Dyno day. Look at the graph. First pull is #1 (blue)look at his hp and the similarity in the graph to yours.
The red is after the resonator was removed and some base tuning on 2.0 cams.

China no name I want to get a Turbosmart gate ASAP.
Is 38mm too small for my application though?

Wow that does look crazy similar...however I 100% have the type on the left. Both the resonator and muffler are. I should know, I fitted them
The tuning you did obviously helped, and I know my setup needs more tuning...but I really don't think it should cop more timing and I don't want the AFR any leaner on pump fuel.
So I don't actually know how I'd get more power out of it.
Thing is though, the car picked up 40hp in the top 40km/h of the dyno graph by simply adding 4 degrees of timing from 5600-8000rpm...no hint of detonation. Then at the track the next day the wastegate nipple came loose and the car was running 16psi in hot and humid conditions, racing a bunch of cars...still with that timing. And still no pinging.
Which surprised me. I was glad, but surprised.

No joke, the car was making 175hp just before redline when the top end timing was at 12 and 13 rather than the current 16 and 17. It just fell wayyyyy flat on its face after it peaked at like 200hp back at 140-150kmh.
Literally no other changes except 4 degrees of timing. Same boost, same fuel. Runs within 10 mins of each other.

SR20VE+T low on power, please help!
Is that a T2 flange turbo? IMO VVLs should not run a frame turbo smaller then a T4.. With that said have you tried to Dyno without activating VVL to see the results? Your Dyno also looks all over the place. Try to get a nice stable run without activating VVL and ensure your Dyno graph looks linear and uniform with no dips peeks or valleys.. In the event you see such an occurrence you might have a bad airflow meter or bad grounds or a power supply problem ..

Wait a second...is that an N/A VE? Look at his AFR! Goes at or below 10:1 on first run LOL...there's your problem! Unless his resonator was causing it to turn stupid rich (which could have been tuned out anyways), that's gotta be where the majority of that 40whp came from without a doubt. If his fuel was messed up I wouldn't doubt timing was also off. I think people are overestimating exhaust stuff.

I wanna see the same run w/corrected tune w/the resonator.

@niSSSdan : have you checked compression yet?

Ok and it made 157 tuned with the resonator in place. We cut exhaust before the resonator and it jumped to 179whp. Tuned with resonator in place it didn't even make 160whp tuned.

Run #1 and #15 are with the resonator in place, run 15 is after the fuel was adjusted, timing was not helping. The green is after we cut the resonator off.
