Thread: N1 or stock VE cams for my 3071r setup

I'd rather go with what has already been proven to work than play the guessing game especially when I won't be revving high enough to utilize them...and Mike the zip ties broke during shipping the adapter is fine but was in the bottom of the box.

I have this link saved for when I get around to having the same problem 184-D N1/20v Camshaft Set - SR16VE / SR20VE (T) - Kelford Cams Between the specs of these and some other their cams you may be able to find whats best. Ive spoken to these guys before and they were really helpful and knowledgeable, maybe give them a call or email and see what they suggest?

Have to step out of the comfort zone sometimes... If everyone follows footsteps the community paces in circles. Why not try the n1's if you already have them. Post up your findings and if you don't like them, sell them.

I hear ya.. but you know people use to say u couldnt boost a ve or u had to use a certain setup or whatever.. now theres all kinds of different boosted ve's running around..

If I could afford it id buy your n1s

LOl Dre. I think I also spoke with you while I was putting this setup together. I know some people were using them and not talking about it. It was people like you and charles that gave me the information I needed. Your always a wealth of knowledge.

I actually really like this idea. Seems like the perfect mix between the two. The price is steep but selling the n1's would make up for around half of it. Maybe I should just run stock cams for a little until I can purchase these and s&r's??



I'm all for getting out of my comfort zone. Just trying to think logically and keep it somewhat simple and practical. Do you guys just want to see how it does with the n1's in like they are now without me revving to their potential or installing springs/retainers? If they are coming out I'd rather go with what has been proven or will work best. I don't know though, still have some decisions to make. As you can probably tell I'm back and forth on a few things.



I know what you mean here too...I have a few weeks until we will be at the point of the install where the cam choice will need to be addresses. I'm glad I asked now though because this discussion and time to weigh in on a decision has already been beneficial for me.



I appreciate the offer but if I do sell the n1's it will be for the 20v's or the Kelfords at this point. Seeing his peak boost at the rpm it was and the numbers he put down is what really sold me on it. I love the idea of 400hp at 15 psi and full boost around 3500rpm. Traction is gonna be difficult that's for sure.

you have a chance to test something that i WISH i could test man, if you made more power on n1's then stock cams u better believe id be gettin some n1's again haha.

i see no problem revving to 7500-8000 on the n1's with stock s&r.. hell it prob be safer then revving stock cams to 7500.

plus if you have stock ones on hand a cam change only takes maybe an hour if you take your time, however i realize dyno time is not free
