fuel cut? on 3rd gear 7krpm
Hi guys,

just want to ask some advice..

when i try to run the car from 1st to 3rd all in 7krpm. when i'm on 3rd gear there is something like it cut the fuel. even i''m pushing hard on accelerator it just cut off. and after a few seconds it turns back is this what a fuel cut is? i do have a walbro 255lph fuel pump. so i was wondering what the matter with it.

hope you can share

How about 4th gear? If you shift will it keep going faster?

Guessing your using a stock ecu?

What ecu are you running. The stock ecu cuts by rpm and speed. Also your tach may be reading off. I know mine is off I can get the correct reading from my laptop.

i'm currently running stock gtir engine on my b13... running on .8 bar. When i try to run from 1st to 3rd. when i'm nearing 7krpm it will cut out then after few seconds it turns back. I'm not sure if this is because of the speed limit since my motor is jdm gtir?.

the rev limit is set by the ecu. So what ecu are you running? also have you checked your pump voltage under load. the stock fuel relays offend do not provide enough voltage to the pump. This will cause a fuel starvation issue and the pump to over heat.

i'm running stock gtir ecu.. i was just wondering maybe because of the speed limit since japan has 180kph limit. though i haven't look on the speed while i drive on it. my afr is 10.6 on high rpm..... maybe your right that can be one thing i read somewhere here i think to reroute the line for fuel pump so it can supply enough voltage under on high load.

The stock rev limit on the ecu is 7500rpm. The speed limiter is 109mph. Your tach could just be off. Its not uncommon to be off 500rpm on the high side of the scale. As for the fuel pump I always run a stabilizer relay between the fuel pump and the battery. This keeps the pump running at constant voltage. That does not seem to be your issue if your afr's are in the 10's. Sounds more like a tach/ecu issue.

yes the stock rev limit is 7.5rpm as what i seen on consult. it's also same from my panel guage. but the issue is that it's something like it just cut out then after few seconds it turns back. it's not the rev limit issue.

I've been blowing out my 0.9mm gap spark plugs since I've been boosted. You sure you're losing fuel and not spark?
