Anyone running a T518z t517z or Td05h-18g Turbo on there VET setup?
Just curious what your numbers are if anyone is running that on there VET. You used to be able to find the 18g Greddy for $350-600 depending on the shape. Nowadays its seems that they have turned into unicorns and you cant find them. But I am seeing the T series greddy turbos alot.

The BRZ is making 300whp at 7psi with a T518z. Just curious. I really wanna see some E85 SR20VE+one of these turbos and the numbers it puts out.

I love Greddy turbos. Well builts, cheap to rebuild and excellent power. Ive used the T517z on my old Nx and compared to the 18g, there really osnt much different. As for Vet, looking at the exhaust housing and exhaust wheel size, the t517z would be an extremely quick spooling turbo on the VE. This is not from experience with the turbo on a ve, but my experience with Greddy turbos.

Don´t know if it helps at all, but Greddy are basically "massaged" MHI turbos, mitsubishis...

I´m running a Td05h-16g from Subaru, with a 6cm2 T2 flange from an Alfa Romeo... similar spec to the T517Z... i´ve just bought 2(good) junk turbos, swapped the hotside housing and slapped that on the GTIR manifold... got 303bhp reliable from a EUDM 10:1 SR20DE, from 100usd turbos.

Garrett´s are temperamental, rare and pricey when used... where i live of course... if you going costume MHI´s are a great option...

There´s plenty of 16g´s, 18g´s, 20g´s from subarus and evos floating around, and you can buy T2/T3/T4 turbine housings from ebay, like the kinugawa ones, their made in Japan, the AUS guys love them, even full turbos...

You can buy a genuine MHI td05/td06 turbo, use the original CHRA, and choose the turbine housing, even the compressor housing for your power goals and have pretty much what you want for half the price of any Garrett turbo our brand name...

If you go to Australian Nissan forums there´s plenty of info on MHI/greddy turbos... and even more on EVO and subaru fórums...

There are even plenty of "special" turbo manufacturers that use kinugawa/kamak turbo parts, on original center cartridges...

I´m planning to use a 10cm2 T3 turbine housing on my turbo with a tubular manifold for more power... maybe use a 18g or 20g wheel/compressor on the cold side...

The T517z is a great turbo. Basically the same thing as a Greddy 18g with a smaller intake wheel and housing. So sppol time will be faster. But top end power isnt on par with the 18g. T518z is the same as an 18g. But its part of greddys "Compact" turbo line. So the compressor housing is also smaller then the 18gs 3" smooth inlet.

Im waiting for somebody to pop up with an 18g on an SR20VE. Maybe I can let @Scrildo borrow my Brand new 18g and see what numbers he gets with it. Prob to muh hassle though even though he lives right down the street lol.

My brand new one Waiting on a car to put it on

I was checking out the kinugawa turbos today, very well priced for a Japanese turbo with warranty!
I've put one on my watch list, td06-18g with 10cm rear and set up for external gate. Seems like a good combo!

I´ve read quite alot about them, mostly from where you are... even if you don´t trust their turbos, they have several well built, well priced parts to hybrid any WRX or EVO MHI turbo...

You can buy a mitsubishi or subaru odd flanged turbo and slap a T2 or T3 turbine housing from kinugawa...

With a td05h-16G-6cm2 i made 303bhp from a stock 10:1 sr20de@0.5/0.6bar...

Yeah exactly! I reckon they're trustworthy enough though. Made in japan and come with a year warranty, just like any good turbo.

Wow that's crazy power for low boost and such a small turbo! Very nice
