grinding engine block
Anyone gring their block to fit a bigger turbo? If so what did you use and what is the best way to do it?

I've used an angle grinder, and I've also actually used a hammer and chisel with a bit of file work at the end. Grinder was easier and maybe more precise, while also producing a ton of mess (and I hear aluminum exposure may be linked to Alzheimer's so wear a mask at the least).

I've used a grinder as well. Worth like a charm. I would make sure areas where aluminum doesn't belong get covered up before hand. Shit went all over.

You'd be surprised how much you can grind off/into the block!

Save yourself the trouble, however, and get a GTI-R manifold. If I could do it over, that's what I'd do.

THAT must be why I can't remember anything anymore. I think I inhaled 1/4 of the SR block. I thought it'd give me special powers.

I have done it with a angle grinder and a dremel. The dremel took a while .

I am using a gtir manifold. and by the looks of it, an angle grinder seems like it would be the easiest

Angle grinder, here is a disco being fit:

Also GTiR Manifolds suck for 3" inlets, Avenir fits it much easier.
