Thread: Just got my T25 Kit.... And...........

I just picked up this turbo kit and the turbo has NO shaft play at all but will not spin freely. I tried some oil down the supply but did not help. The fins look like they may have eaten something, turbine never touched the housing... Where do i get a new compressor wheel? I know i can get the kit from ebay..




Also this was not connected to the motor when i took it off, is this where the water lines go?



And lastly, what kind of turbo does this look to be? Im guessing Avenir?

Looks like an avenir W10.

What's the part number on the dataplate? As far as not spinning freely, it could be the bearing, even though it has no shaft play. Remove the exhaust housing and compressor housing and see if the shaft spins again.

the fins look pretty bad even if it did spin freely, i would def say the bearings are prolly shot, those turbos arent that much i would just go ahead and replace it

It wouldnt be cheaper if i just rebuild it or have it rebuilt?

that turbo is toast. the fins are bent an the bearing has seized. you can lossen it up with needle nose pressure plyers an wd40 but it will leak oil. an burn it too.

not cheaper to rebuild it, like everyone keeps telling you, get another snail dude

It will cost the same to rebuild, minus shipping both ways, than to buy another turbine.

Who did you buy this kit from? Blades look to be in real bad shape.
