The AEM has a Hi and lo boost button. You hold down the Button on the left and it switches it from off to low to high. Youcan also setup a scramble button that shoots the boost up to whatever boost you want for a set period of time (i think its 15-30seconds). I love my AEM Tru boost

TurboXS "High Performance" manual controller. It does the job for me for now.

can you explain to me how in the world to get it to stay at one boost level, i tried to get it to stay at 15 PSI, it would spike up to 20-22PSi and then drop to like 11-13, never hold constant boost.

Well I wont thread jack. But what wastegate are you running?

Either your wastegate sucks. Or your trying to adjust too many things on the controller at one time. The controller has settings on it that you can adjust for boost response AND boost control. If you have the boost controll settings set right but you have the boost response settings too high itll spike and then come back down.

It sounds like your running a T25 or something small though. Are you? Cause if you are then even if you have it set right after about 6k the t25 wont be able to push more then about 11-12lbs of boost.

Apexi AVC-R.....really wish i could use the boost by gear function.....damn mechanical speed sensor, other than that its a great unit.

Im using the AEM truboost as well. I love it. And funny thing is im running it setup the exact way you would on an internal gate and its still works perfect.

Here is the thing i had to do before anything. Set the gate crack pressure then mess with the duty cycle. Mine doesnt spike at all. My off runs wastegate pressure. My A is set up for wastegate pressure as well, then my B setting is set to 24psi, My wastegate crack pressure was set to 14psi, then duty cycle at 55%,

The thing was before i had my crack pressure set the boost was really laggy where it should have been hitting 19-20psi i was only hitting like 14. When you set crack pressure that tells the controller not to even do anything until it sees that pressure. So it keeps the valve closed to allow as quick of a spoolup as possible then actuates the solenoid into duty cycle to keep boost levels where you want them. All based on duty cycle.

Once you get it set up properly its awesome. It took me a couple dyno pulls to get it right. I love it, soo simple to use, zero issues with spiking boost, and very nice and simple looking.

I'll be running this one on my setup. Going to toss it in the glove compartment when done.
