Thread: 2 questions about my new to me turbo

ive never done a diy turbo build last car was for show so im still fresh to this stuff. so anyways i just picked up this turbo off ebay. its nissan brand.



what turbo is it?? its t3 turbine housing with 6 bolt down pipe and a was told a t28 compressor housing. from what i understand its oil and water cooled since it has 4 connections instead of 2 in the center. guy said it was off a 300zx. all the blades look to be in great condition.

only markings are



69h n5s and on the inside of the turbine housing is 063

also................

i wanna weld up the internal wastegate hole all the bolts seem to be easy to get to but...



its in a horrible location... no room to pull it out unless its not ment to and im blonde so excuse that

looks like a z31(300zx) turbo.

so can i use a t3 rebuild kit on it when i need to or? and does anyone know max psi these handle cuz im wantin to run 10/12psi

its a t3 turbo. I would not bother to rebuild it. Max boost is usually 10-12psi. I have seen them run up to 15psi but they don't seem to be efficient at that boost pressure.

why you didnt go with a t25 setup or t28 setup for ease of install and cheapness is beyond me

so run it till it dies and replace it gotcha

i just want sumthin to play with. not looking to make a 400hp monster or anything. just something to piss the neighbors off. plus i might sell it after its all done and painted and get a 89 skyline since they will b able to b imported legally

should just save your pennies than because sentra resale value isnt exactly the best

i never do anything easy and i constantly change my plans.
