Here's a pic of my welded case. Gears are also shot peened and cryo treated. Overkill for n/a i know, but when recently disassembled for a Cusco RS LSD it looked like new in there.

Gears: Cryotreat, Shot Peening, REM help the gears without a doubt.

Case: Tig it up - You can make aluminum fillers to weld in. It is VERY IMPORTANT to bolt the case down when welding so it does not tweak in shape. Also will likely require replacement of the trans shaft bearings.

Clutch Disc: Cryo & Shot the disc before the friction material is added. This will will help prevent stripping out the splines on the clutch disc & input shaft. I Sprung Hub is ideal (in my opinion) to help extend trans life as it helps to absorb the shock.

Suspension: Lower control arm bracing, uprated bushing

Engine: Solid engine mounts - Ideally the NISMO or JWT if you can find (Both discontinued years ago)

Look's like a B13 case with a B14 VSS - Who did your weld job and did they do the underside also?

you can probably have one shipped to you for under 600. Start looking out further for a better deal... 1k is maxima territory.

82v box from a VZR N1.
A gearbox specialist in the UK did the welding. I dont think the underside is welded.

Does anyone have recommendations on where to have gears shot peened,

I found a lot on car-part with low miles and low price. I plan on obtaining one, gear it down and weld the case for reinforcement so pretty much weld any pockets and around axle inserts, should I cryotreat and shot peen the gears? Overkill?
