The 6 speed will eventually pay for itself in highway gas mileage in the long run...
I get about 11 more mpg with it then I did with the P11.
It will take probably 5 - 8 years, but I'll get there.

There is a write up by Ashton in the how to section. All told you might spend about 2K for everything. However the difference in cost from the B15 tranny swap isnt crazy. If you can find a Spec V partout like I did then you can get most of the hard parts for about 500 (tranny, axles, shifter etc)

Find a yard that has a whole spec V, you buy the hubs, axles, shifter, shift cables, transmission, and brake calipers. I bought all of that from a 05' Spec V w/ 34K miles for $800. Also if you havent looked in the classified section I have my flywheel and clutch for sale which can be had for less than buying new and it only has 10 miles on it.

I have a 6spd in my b13 and if you end up pulling it off for 2k$ then your lucky. I made my own mounts to save $ and I'm 3k$ deep into this thing but thats including a spare trans. Just some ball park numbers.
Trans- 300-400$
Axles- 200 new
Spindle w/ hubs & brakes-100-150$
Mazworx mounts- 400$
Axle bracket- 80$
Shifter and cables- 80-100$
Clutch and flywheel- 1000$ yes this is for real
Bell housing- 350$
New wheels or have the b15 parts machined- 150$
Hydro clutch swap and parts- 150$
Alignment- free haha I got a hookup
You can add it up on your own and see that this is no cheap and easy swap..... But it has been worth every penny and hr of bs work to get it done.

Thoughts on going with a dog box gear set over helical gears? Stronger, possible, better at load bearing that's for sure.
