Pic Comparison: .86 vs .64 Turbine Housings
I couldn't find a pic of this anywhere on the net, so I took my own:

These both came off a 2871R, but represent any GT28 turbo.

First up:

.64 housing

Next:

.86 housing

The actual size of the entire housing from the outside is much bigger in the .86 as well. So big, in fact, that I may have to grind my downpipe because the downpipe flange pretty much sits on the housing now(update:didn't have to grind the downpipe). I took a pic of the two housings on the floor, but for some reason the pic doesn't show the comparison very well so I didn't post those. I think it's because I took a pic at an angle with the smaller one in the front.

You can kinda get an idea by looking at the rest of the housing in the 2 pics above how much bigger the .86 is.

I should have went .86 from the beginning. Car breathes a lot better and extra lag is not noticeable. I have a 52 trim 2871r.

My bearing is shot in my 71r so I'm going to go with a rebuild, .86 housing and a gtx turbine wheel

Anyone here used a .86 and a .63 On a GTX3076R or GTX3076R?? Just want to know where boost comes in on either and what difference it might make up top. This is for a heavily worked SR20DET.

*Currently this is what I've got.*Twin bosch 044's, 1/2 fuel line to rail, 3/8 to reg and tank, G reddy intake match ported, 70mm throttle body, 1600cc injectors, BC 272 cams/retainers/springs, adjustable cam gears, MLS head gasket, ported head, rocker stoppers, 1mm oversize valves, boost 6 manifold T3, 44mm tial gate,*CP forged pistons, SPOOL H beam rods, Darton Sleeves, arp head studs and Rod bolts, haltech Sport 1000, 5 speed manual, I'm aiming for around the 400+rwkw mark.

Fuel will be E85.

Engine has already made 480kw @ flywheel with a GTX3582r with .63 rear but was a bit laggy.
