My discoloration was from the exhaust gases from a leaky manifold. The manifold had cracks all the way around the ports which caused the black soot (sp?) on the nuts. I thought the same thing, @lynchfourtwenty. After some inspection, noticed cracks all the way around. I had replaced ALL of my stock manifold nuts with copper nuts. This was only after maybe 300 miles of use. The rest of the copper nuts had slight discoloration, which is probably what you are referring to. But the 2 closest to the first cracks were completely black. So, you could definitely see the difference there. The copper nuts have held up great! It was a cheap manifold. Very cheap. But, you live and learn. I will stay away from those ebay parts.

Well cx racing makes this same style manifold but with bigger tubing and thicker wall tubing that supposedly wont crack. This is the same manifold that i ran on my de-t daily driven and a week later the wastegate flange cracked and broke off. I had it rewelded and braced to the turbo flange and never had it crack again anywhere.

If this thinner wall one fails which ive already had rewelded and braced in the right places ill get the bigger tube and thicker wall one.

Nothing wrong with det's mine was very fun. Made great power and was insanely reliable motor wise. Beat the shit out of it and it never had any issue until later down the road when i switched fuel system and had issues.

Ashton, I am looking forward to see some live dyno streams like last time! The new build looks like a bunch of fun, cannot wait until Convention time for more shenanigans. Good luck and keep on with the updates!

Cooling is amazing and being able to cool the engine without having it running is awesome. Daily driving ive never had any cooling issues.

Spec V non brembo's. So far so good. About to go out and tune it a bit more as my computer died and barely got to tune it at all other than setting idle and locking in the ignition timing. But it drives awesome so far. No issues with the driver side axle bottoming out and again this is a complete untouched b15 hub, axle, and brake setup. Again i think a lot of the issue is how you have the knuckle positioned in the strut. It allows you quite a bit of movement when you push the knuckle in or pull it out. From pushed in to pulled out there is probably a good inch difference in the distance from the inner side of the hub to the transmission seal. I have mine pulled all the way towards me before tightening the 2 17mm bolts. I re-aligned the car afterward to correct the toe, camber was sitting pretty damn close to 0, i think .03* on one side and .02* on the other of negative camber. I also have full coilovers w/ camber plates and pillow ball tops.

Either way, put about 15 miles on it of both intown and freeway doing 75/80 mph and its smooth as can be and soo peppy down low in the rpms compared to the low comp 2.0L ve-t previously.

Gonna drive it easy for a couple weeks for break in and to make sure everything is 100% and then it will go on the dyno. Leaves me some time to get the FID2000 injectors. Because this thing is gonna need more injector....
