Yeah, I've already ground the block down, because I could see myself going for that 2871R at some point. I want to see what I get out of the disco, because honestly, I think that the amount of power I'm gonna get from this thing will be borderline unuseable. What I really want is responsive power on tap for track use, and if I get the 325+whp that I'm told I will, that should be satisfying (for a while... :rofl. We'll see.

I ran a 2871R on my last B13, It was a great turbo. Nothing too crazy though as far as power goes. But a very responsive turbo, great for a street setup.

But larger, right? I've heard its spool is slower, which is what I really like about the disco. Of course I haven't even got the car together yet, so we'll see.

Updates on the project...
So I'm finally getting somewhere with this. After breaking the starter, breaking bolts in the flywheel, etc. etc. I'm ready to drop this sucker in. Here's a pic.

I still need to do a few things, like figure out fittings and hoses for my AFPR, put in my new brake MC, put in gauges, EBC, turbo timer, etc. All that aside, the motor should be sitting in the engine bay later this week...

nice! i've been slacking on this, the winter cold took the wind out of my sails so to speak. I nearly decided to part it and find a new car! What's the disco like?

spools so fast I don't know what to do. Lag between up shifts is almost non existent.

So I'm getting pretty close to having this car back on the road after a solid year plus. I'm having a few problems, but I was just sitting here and started putting down everything that this swap entailed... here's what I've got:

Engine:
W11 DET
S4 cams
BC Ti valvetrain
3 angle valve grind
Meziere electronic water pump
Davies craig digital EWP controller
ACT Extreme clutch with 6 puck sprung disc
B14 LSD trans (we'll see how long this lasts...)
GT28RS turbo w/internal WG
Precision 350hp FMIC
2.5" hotside/3" coldside FMIC piping
Deleted A/C, PS, and water pump.

Fuel:
Walbro 255lph pump
Nismo 740cc injectors
Aeromotive A1000 AFPR
Z32 fuel filter

Electronics:
Calum RT ECU
Z32 MAF
Profec B spec 1 EBC
GReddy turbo timer
Zietronix ZT-2 wideband w/egt and boost sensors
Zietronix 52mm wideband gauge
Pro sport gauges: water temp, oil press, fuel press, boost

edit: forgot to add brake work:
Ad22V calipers rebuilt
Axxis Ultimates all around
Goodridge SS brake lines
New rotors (R1 concepts slotted)
NX2K Brake Master Cylinder

I think that's about it, but I may have to edit that... I'm hoping for 350whp on a very conservative tune.
