Hmmm I can use the de rods, but wouldn't it be pretty nice to run det pistons, metal hg, and acl bearings? I think itd be a safer route. Also because you can pick up gtir bottom end for alittle over 150 these days

If u r going thru the trouble of swapping pistons might as well get vet pistons with vet hg and acl or oem bearings. De crank will do u fine and it's not hard to swap cranks. Either and I'll definitely use the girdle but not required. I consider it more security. To notch det pistons you will have to take it to a machine shop if you have never done it before. Ve pistons have weaker ringlands but the response is unmatched compared to using det pistons. And don't forget that gtir use wider rod bearings and I believe bigger flywheel bolts

no you don't have to use the girdle but I would. The crank is easy to swap. you may need to tap it with a dead blow to get it loose.

So sqap the crank and girdle, vet pistons would be fun. How much could I get out of it with vet pistons on the t28 with acl amd metal gasket? I plan on sticking to stock boost just to have my car back for a while
