Avenir+GTIR turbo
Hi, I been reading a lot about it and some people say yes and some other no... I have a W10 avenir with a Avenir manifold and a T25, I going to change the t25 to a t28 gtir... I dont have extra money to buy a GTIR manifold so pretty much what I want is some one to tell me what I have to do or change to put the GTIR turbo on a Avenir! Thank you in advance! Im from Costa Rica by the way, so if you dont understand me let me know lol

I think we understand you perfectly.

You can use the Avenir manifold, but you may need to do some grinding on the block. I have a GT2871R that I made fit with grinding using an Avenir manifold. That's all you need - a grinder. As long as you already have a downpipe associated with your current T25 setup it should bolt right up.

have fun!

Use the Avenir manifold it fits better then GTiR one. There is one slight spot that you do need to probably shave, but that will depend on how you clock your turbo. Also Avenir manifold will fit a 3" OD comp housing easier then a GTiR turbo will from inlet perspective. (I'm running a disco 3" housing on an avenir manifold right now).

In addition to whats above, the GTI-R T28 downpipe flange is slightly rotated from the T25 downpipe

Basically Match up a T25 O2 housing with a T25 downpipe and same for a T28

If you are only swapping the T28 in, use the stock O2 housing and downpipe and you should be set

^^ you would have to drill a hole out a little to run a T25 Jpipe on a T28.

^^ Yes! Thanks Keo! Probably cheaper than purchasing a downpipe/O2 housing if the turbo did not already come with one

If he already has a downpipe for his T25 setup in place, he shouldn't have to modify anything. J-pipe/downpipe fitment is based on J-pipe and manifold, NOT turbo. If he is using the Avenir j-pipe and manifold with his T25, the T28 should bolt up without modification. I believe this to be his case since he states he's already using a T25.
