a VE still has the weak point of a RR though, the 4cw crank.

I might be leaning towards the side of replacing my current crank with a 8cw crank and just putting in the rod bearings and putting on my turbo the block is already tapped for it.

The crank will not be a problem on a T28 turbo

I agree with everyone else here, you are making this way too hard for a simple build. I have seen more built engines have problems than stock engines on anything under 400whp. Spend the money where i counts, tuning and tires.... If you feel like you want more power throw in some cams. I would do just the valve springs and probably cams right up front with it being a RR. Don't bother with valves on a simple t28, you won't gain much if anything and it complicates things even more.

It is scary to thing of putting so much money into building a motor though and I have issues on start up.

What are your power goals with this car?

If you really want something drop dead nuts reliable get a DET for ~$700. If you want something very reliable get a low mileage DE, if you want to continue tinkering with the car non-stop continue on with your build.

Yes you will be once you start realizing it adds up more and more.

Stock motor ftw, my sr20det made over 350whp for seven years. I now have a ve about to get boosted. My buddy has a stock ve on 10psi making 340whp and can be driven daily for years. Nissan engines are designed to last.

I might just drop a crank in since mine is to messes up getting a 8cw crank maybe get it machined new bearings and if she runs fine. Call it a day and boost it. If not if I replace my RR with a DET I would have to switch out out the harness and aren't those hard to come by?

Why would you need to switch out the harness? There is some minor wiring work, but if you stay the same ECU you don't have to worry about most of the work. I run a DET on my B15 no problem...

what were a few of the things you had to rewire?

What's wrong with the 4 counter weight cranks?

Mine threw a bearing I tried replacing it but it spun it again... It scarred the crank that I can either take it out and pay 140 to turn it. Or take this free one I'm getting and replace it.

8counter weight cranks have better balancing which helps
