HKS SSQV vs. Greddy Type S
i have a greddy type s on my car and i recently picked up a real hks ssqv for 10.00 lol and i am torn between the 2, i was wondering what you guy thought about the 2 bovs?

the thing i like about the grddy type s is the sound, altho it is rather loud depending on the boost, but the thing i dont like about it is that i havent been able to 100% adjust it right i donno what the deal is

i havent used the hks ssqv long, but i dont have any bad complaints about it, its very responsive and i like the pull type design so its not opn at idle like the greddy type s...the sound is another thing, its kinda loud i donno

any thoughts?

I've been running the old model HKS SQV (which from my understanding the SSQV is just a cosmetic step up and nothing else) for close to 5 years now and never had a problem with it. Works like a champ.

wel the thing i like about the hks is that under boost the boost is presse against the valve and then when it sees vcuum it opens , this makes it great for response i think

ilike the greddy but mine has given me alot of problems with compressor surge and it not working 100%

if both were working right i would use the greddy just for the fact i dont like the way the hks one sounds

yeah i like the greddy but its NEVER one off right, and i dont think its as responsive, but i do agree, if it was working right i lik it, but its a PITA to adjsut and it still doesnt act right.

what about the hks sound is it that you dont like

yeah mine isnt adustable either, which was the thing i actually liked, which i have read alot of people dont like that ,BUT i would rather not be able to adjust it so i can just plug and go, verses like the greddy that needs to be adjusted and that takes adjusting the screw, drving it and then seeing if it goes off, its just a pain, even when i had the grddy semi adjusted, it still wasnt as responsive at low boost or low rpm revs as the hks was, the has responds even in low reving. which is real nice

its responsive, as soon as the tb closes it sounds off, its cool because you can ease off the throttle really slowly and have it whistle long.
