Skimmed thru this quickly but did you have the head resurfaced before everything was put together? I ask because when I blew the head gasket on my VE I had the machine shop resurface it and it def was a good idea because the computer comes up with minor difference and corrects them. After much debate I went with a set of new OEM NISSAN head studs and the VE metal gasket from Greg @ Gspec. Heard too much stuff about the Mazworks and APR studs, both good and bad, they are too short, too long etc. So I saved about $100 and stuck with Nissan. I still have a full set of OEM Nissan studs from my old DE actually sitting around.

I have the Mazworx Studs in my sr20det and have had zero problems with them. I followed their provided instructions and thus far they have worked perfectly. I am glad you are making progress, I know how frustrating these type of setbacks can be.

It had some shoddy machine work done that left the head off by .005 the last time I put it together. I feel pretty good about this build though. Not rushed at all.

It's a protech manifold I picked up off another forum member. Tubular but obviously not equal length. It looks like it will outflow a log by a long shot though! Turbo is nothing special for now. Just a .63 ar 57 trim stage 3 t3t4 I had laying around.
