Well, I was looking for twin scroll b/c I found a sweet deal on a 67 trim turbo/wastegate that I want to get, and majority of the better turbos I've seen and been interested in are twin scroll. If I could find a complete package (manifold/turbo) that I liked, I'd go open manifold/turbo.

@ashtonsser: I saw your ad yesterday. I'll take another look.

there is no reason you cant run a twin scroll turbo on an open manifold.

??? I thought it would eventually hurt the turbo...

Nope. I did it with my borg warner turbo on my old t4. Only thing it hurts is spool time. You can get open housing turbine housings new for like 200 to put on the turbo you want.

If all else is equal a twin scroll will spool better than a standard turbo, at the cost of a little top end. Now if you have a twin scroll manifold that wasn't designed very well and a very well designed single scroll manifold, the single scroll can spool better. It's not just the turbo design when it comes to spool performance, its very important to have a properly designed manifold.

I would not recommend running a open manifold with a twin scroll back housing, I tested it with negative effects.
